    Virtual Leadership Program for High School Students across Africa
    Strive Africa offers the Future Leaders Academy, a four-week virtual program designed for students from high-performing high schools across Africa. This program provides a unique opportunity for young leaders to develop essential skills for their academic and professional futures, strengthening application for higher education opportunities.

  • Program Overview

    Program Highlights: An eight-month online program designed to enhance U.S. university readiness and application competitiveness.

     

    Curriculum: Our program covers a range of subjects, including writing, history, sociology, tech careers, politics, data science, and social science. These courses are carefully curated to prepare you for academic excellence and future success.

     

    Faculty: Learn from experienced adjunct faculty members who are experts in their respective fields, ensuring a high-quality education. Our faculty are all U.S.-based, have earned MA and PhD degrees from U.S. universities, and have multiple years of relevant experience.

     

    Eligibility: To enroll, you must have graduated from high school (or about to graduate) and be seeking undergraduate or graduate admission in the U.S.

     

    Flexibility: All classes are conducted virtually, allowing you to access world-class education from anywhere in Africa.

     

    Support: Benefit from personalized support with virtual office hours and a supportive community of fellow students.

     

    Timing:

    Term 1: October - November, 2024 (2 courses)

    Term 2: December - January, 2024 (2 courses)

    Term 3: February - May, 2025 (2 courses)

  • Program Tuition & Benefits

    The program tuition is $3,500 (USD), payable in three installments in September (deposit), December, and February.

     

    Special for 2024: Tuition will be $2,500 for the first 10 students who enroll and pay their deposit.

     

    Tuition includes:

    • Six courses over three terms, focussed on the skills and knowledge necessary for U.S. college application success. Courses meet 1x per week for 60 or 90 minutes.
    • Access to faculty for 1:1 advising.
    • Small class size: capped at 25 students.
    • All materials, supplies, readings, and course online access.
    • Letter(s) of recommendation for college applications.
    • Transcript.
    • Certificate of Enrollment and Good Standing (when applicable).
    • Graduation Diploma (after meeting all program requirements).

    Patrick Arnold, MA

    Co-Founder

     

    Patrick is a seasoned entrepreneur, international educator, and leadership trainer. For more than 15 years, he's worked with top students from around the world and collaborated closely with leading U.S. universities, including Stanford, Duke, and the University of California. As a faculty member of a Southeast Asia-based college preparatory school, he supported students to earn millions of dollars in combined scholarships to top U.S. universities. He also has 20 years of experience living, studying, and working across Africa.

     

    Patrick has BA and MA degrees from American University's School of International Service in Washington, DC and recently completed several post-graduate certificates on environmental issues from Cornell, Oxford, and the University of California Berkeley.

    Charlie Harcourt, MA

    Co-Founder

    Charlie is an international student advisor, education access advocate, teacher, and former student immigration official. Currently, he manages New England Recruitment for Milton Hershey School. Previously, he served as the Associate Director for Graduate & International Programs at Cazenovia College and as the International Recruitment & Operations Coordinator at Wells College.

     

    Charlie has served at three U.S. colleges as the designated official for F-1 visa processing and advised dozens of students successfully in this process. Through his involvement with EducationUSA, The Myanmar Foundation for Analytic Education, NAFSA, and the American International Recruitment Council, Charlie has grown a network of professional colleagues and friends around the world.

     

    Charlie completed his bachelor’s degree in history and Secondary Education at Green Mountain College in VT; graduate coursework in East Asia Studies at the University of Massachusetts, and a master’s degree in international education at Prescott College in AZ.
